Dispatch-generated GPS coordinates
Some dispatch centers generate GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) that they send along with alarms. Most of the time, these coordinates are of low quality (they come from estimates of the caller location) and should be discarded.
On some cases where you know your dispatch center issues high quality GPS coordinates, you can direct Active911 to use these coordinates for mapping.
What to do
Log into your Active911 account and click on the tab with your agency name. Scroll to the bottom. Look for the option that reads "Override mapping with GPS coords from your dispatch center?" Simply change the option as desired. If the option is grayed out or disabled, your account does not have the Edit Agency permissions - you'll need to contact the person that created your account and get this permission added.
|Warning: Change this setting with caution - it may break mapping!|
